As a representative of their religious faith and endorsing body, The ECC clergy are held accountable for their beliefs, decisions, actions, and religious practices that violate scripture, ECC policies and bylaws. These Code of Ethics and Ministrial Covenant demostrate that The ECC clergy have Christian muturity and are trained according to the Word of God. ECC clergy are always at liberty to choose his or her own path of conscience with the implicit understanding and concession that they are also accountable to the law, their faith group, and The ECC, the institution they serve.
