Core Values

The ECC values Unity in the body of Christ
The Bible tells us that we are to have unity in the body. While unity is never to cost us the essentials, but the essentials of faith are what makes us Christians. We will never be unified if we are elevating ourselves and our non-essential doctrines into the realm of the essentials.

The ECC values Liberty in the body of Christ
True spiritual liberty is found only in Christ. Liberty in the non-essentials gives each minister the freedom to practice and express their own theological views without prejudice or rejection, knowing that they are accepted in the love of Christ.

The ECC values Diversity in the body of Christ
All of mankind are accepted in the body. While there is one body, there are many members which make up a multicultural and ethnic community of believers. There is no race or age or gender that is not unique and accepted in the spirit of love and humility.

The ECC values Restoration in the body of Christ
CECC recognizes and believes that any Christian who sins, make mistakes, or errs from the truth can be restored in the body of Christ if they repent and seek forgiveness.

The ECC values the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ
Every Christian is given a spiritual gift and the ability to express, celebrate, display, and so communicate Christ in a way that builds up and strengthens the faith of other Christians, and enlarges the church. We acknowledge that God continues today to use the apostolic, prophetic, evangelist, pastor and teacher giftings to edify the church.

Marriage is a lifelong covenant relationship between one man and one women to the exclusion of all others. We also accept those Christians who are divorced and remarried, knowing that God has accepted and forgiven them.
